Many years ago, there was a television commercial for Wendy’s where the spokesperson, “Clara”, asked the question, “where’s the beef”?
This question caught on and resonated with millions of people, who like Clara wanted to know the answer or in other words, wanted to know the truth. This simple and somewhat funny question became the mantra for many who were in search of the answer to one of life’s greatest questions.
As someone who values the simple lessons in life, I have often reflected on this same question as I work to share my gifts and talents with those whose paths I am blessed to cross.
It is important to me that whether it is a cookie or a 7-course meal that you, my customer, know that “the beef” is in the quality of the ingredients and the care and love in which each of our products and services is passed on to you.
We don’t get many chances in life to do a lot, but we are given opportunities each day to do it right.
Here’s a nugget I want to give to you. No matter what your plight in life, each day you have the opportunity to make your mark with what you have, right where you are.
Remember the epic movie “Moses” with Charleton Heston and the scene where he was standing with the daunting Red Sea in front of him and his people and Pharaoh’s army at his back? At his moment of truth God asked him – “Moses, what is that in your hand”? At that moment, Moses stretched out his rod and the mighty waters parted right before his eyes.
It is not about what you don’t have, but about what you do! Where’s the beef in your life? Today is all you’ve got – but then, Today is all you need!
